Method: This study was a non-experimental/observational using quantitative as well as qualitative methods. It was a cross-sectional design, in which data were descriptively analyzed by Anova, and Chi-Square. Prescription data were collected retrospectively on the period of January 1, 1998, through December 31, 2000. Data were obtained from register book of inpatients, prescription sheets, including prescription data on 5 diagnoses, i.e. acute respiratory tracts infections (ISPA), intestinal infections, skin infection, skin clergies, muscular systems and connective tissues. The total number of prescription collected in the study was 4650 cases. Adequacy levels of drugs in pharmaceutical storage (GFK) and health centers in Palangkaraya City were obtained by observing documents of drugs stocks in GFK and drug expedition letter in health centers and data collection. in addition to documents observations and data collection, this study were also collected by questionnaires filled by 9 doctors, 20 paramedics, 12 drugs managers, 1 pharmaceutical warehouse of health centers.
