Background: Acquired Immuno Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is horde of some symptoms disease, caused by HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), a kind of virus that easily infect other people and also harmful. This virus change our immune system. Approximately a third of HIV/AIDS patients around the world is the adolescence. Sendowo is an area that majority students live there. The students come from all around Indonesia and live in boarding house and out of control from their parents. It may make the adolescence have a deviate and risky behaviour, among others are free sex and drugs. This deviate behaviour can increase the risk to be infected by HIVIAIDS.
Objective: to know about the knowledge and attitude of adolescence at Sendowo toward HIV/ AIDS.
Method: this study is a descriptive research in cross sectional approach. The data collected in qualitative and quantitative method. It took 30 respondent as fit inclusion criterion. Data was collected using questionnaire, dept interview and FGD. The qualitative data analysed in ongoing process and the quantitative data in simple statistics formula.
Result: based on the questionnaire indicated the level of adolescence knowledge 70 "Yo adolescence have a good knowledge toward HIVIAIDS, 30 % are in adequate level, while none (zero) in lack level of knowledge. It also indicates that the clear and right information about the transmission of the disease, prevention and laboratory test for HIVIAIDS are needed. As the respondents of two group above only presumably or estimate about HIVIAIDS. The respondents also willing to follow the campaign to prevent HIV/AIDS.
Conclusion: respondents two of group have an adequate level of knowledge about HIV/AIDS and they have positive attitude toward any efforts to prevent HIV/AIDS.
