Summary: | This research is a normative legal research. It aims to find out the effectiveness level of the role of industrial relations mediator in the settlement of industrial relations disputes in Yogyakarta City It analyzed factors that have influenced the effectiveness of the mediator's role in to settlement of that kind of disputes.
The research demonstrates that the mediators role in the settlement of industrial relations disputes in Yogyakarta City is like this: 32% is very effective, 58% effective, and 10% not effective. The effectiveness level was, on the one hand, influenced by such factors as the custom of negotiation that was still dominant and the eduction level of mediators that was representative. On the other hand, the effectiveness level was also influenced by the insufficiency of official facilities and reluctance of disputing parties to attend the meetings held to resolve the disputes.
