Autoirnmunit hepatitis OM, is a disease with clinical manifestations of chronic neCroirdlarnmatOry (natures in the liver. the etiology of vvroCh is 11111 unknown. Epidemiologically the prevalence is rare, but clinlcally it is a disease with difficult diagn0115 while early diegnosit arid Optimal treatment might prolong patient life span and improve the quality of Ide. The diagnosis of A1H is frequently only possible after excluding many etiologies of other chianic liver diseases. Many kinds of antibodies develop in Alit but no single marker is of diagnostic. The aim this papal is to revisal antibodies in AIH, the laboratory test methods. the interpretation 01 the result and the clinical application at the tests in the managamont of Alta patients.
It has been found that the antibodies differ in AIH type 1, type 2 and type 3, although all AIH types show polyclonal hypergammaglobulinamia, hyperhilirubinerma, increased transammase in the patient serum. ANA, SMA, and pANCA are antibodies that are frequently found in AIH type 1, one LKM and anti LC-1 in HAI typo 2, while SLAJLP is most frequently found in AIN type 3. The most frequent laboratory methods to detect thu antibodies are I1F {indirect �mmunollizorescencei using rodent cell or human epithet as substrate. There ero also ElA lenzyrne impriuno assayf. and ELISA (enzyme linked immunosorbant assinft for ANA, ANCA, anti LKM-1. and anti SLAM,. ANA. SMA and anti LKM-1 are the first line antibody panel end are recommended to apply in patients with increased aminotranslarases, either acute or chronic, if the yirologic examination is negative and no history of hopatotaxic medicine or alcohol consumption. p�ANCA, anti SLAJLP and anti LC-1 might be useful if the first line antibody panel is negative. ALthough soma antibodies such anti ASGPR and anti LC-1 are correlated with the seriousness of the disease and with the response to the treatment. in general the examination of the antiobodles is not yet recommended for assessing the succes-stul of the treatment, the disease activity and the cltnical outcome as wet!.
