Summary:ABSTRACT This paper examines globalization and localization processes that have occurred in tlze most developed and the least developed countries of the world respectiveZv. SpecificalZv, it jocuses on Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA) as a case study. While globalization is considered as a pride to the West and Europe, Africa is still being regarded as localized. The paper goes filrther to address the imbalance and disparity that have existed bern.'een the developed and underdeveloped countries in the areas of electronic, commerce, Information Communication Technology (ICT) among others. Also, the opportunities and challenges posed by globalization are critically focused. The paper identifies the Aji-ican problems of underdevelopment and proposes strategies by which these problems could be solved so that Africa would be able to 'catch up' in the globalization process.
