description One map policy in the Presidential Regulation No. 9 2016 is aimed at the fulfillment of a map that refers to the one geospatial reference, one standard, one database and one geoportal. Therefore any development Thematic Geospatial Information (IGT) should refer to the Basic Geospatial Information (IGD), that is the Geodetic Control Network and base map, to ensure the integration of national information. Base Map in Geospatial Information Act No. 4 2011 are Topographic Map of Indonesia, Indonesia Coastal Environment Map, and Map of the National Marine Environment. Indonesia Coastal Environment Map and Map of National Marine Environment are the maps that are present depth information. Its depth information obtained from the bathymetry measurements using echosounder equipment. Although capable of producing an accurate depth measurement, these methods are difficult to use in shallow waters. The method to determine the depth using satellite imagery, either imaging or non-imaging, offering more flexible capability for use in shallow waters. Imaging methods can be implemented empirically or analytically, or a combination of both. The development of this method shows the improved accuracy of the derived satellite bathymetry. This paper is intended to present a review of techniques to produce bathymetric data from satellite images. Hopefully, this method can be used to support the provision of IGD, particularly Indonesia Coastal Environment Map and Map of National Marine Environment.
