description | Turkey (Meleagris gallopavo) lives on social hierarchies. In the flock, they were organized from most dominance to subordinate pecking order. A superior male turkey will become dominant and other as subordinates. The aggressive interaction commences since brood until flock hierarchies established. The aim of this study is to determine dominant male turkey mating behavior in correlation osperm quality. The study employed four male turkeys. A week observations of individual mating behaviors were including strutting, mounting attempts, successful mounting attempts, treading, and bending. Spermatozoa was collected by ejaculation and from cauda' epididymis then assessed macroscopically for motility, viability and concentration. The results showed only dominant male turkey exhibited tail bending in mating but not affecting the quality of spermatozoa. |
