| Summary: | A Study on the identification of rabies virus in stray dogs was conducted in Makassar. The aims of this study were to identify rabies virus in stray dogs in Makassar. A total of 32 brain samples of stray dogs tested for rabies virus using Fluorescent antibody technique (FAT). The data of rabies virus identification from brain samples were analyzed descriptively. The results of the brain samples showed that 32 samples were rabies negative. Brain samples of stray dogs without clinical symptoms of rabies and the ones from slaughtered dog, are not good sample identification of rabies in a region. |
