Description
Summary:The study received ethical approval from the Medical and Health Research Ethics Committee of the Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada, with a number KE/FK/ 0445 /EC/2019. It was explained to participants and parents in the assent and consent form that answers could not be accessed by anyone except by the data manager. The study was conducted between June and October 2019, among EA who are prone to sexual intercourse (EAWAPTSI) in Semarang, the capital city of Central Java Province, Indonesia. We defined them as a population of adolescents who are suspected of having had sexual intercourse by their network of friends. A total of 180 eligible EAWAPTSI were recruited by RDS method. Nine seeds were determined by researchers based on secondary data from adolescent counseling program at Central Java Province and teenage pregnancy data at Semarang City Health Center. Then, subsequent participants were recruited by seeds or other participants who have already participated in the study.
