Description
Summary:The aim of the research was to know the increasing of F5 lines tomato homosigocity compared to 'ltith tomato lines in the previous generation, and to select lines which produced better fruits quality, such as great quantities in numbers offruits, loculs, Veight, and circle to avalon shape offruits. This research was conducted at Ngipiksari, Hargobinangun, Pakem, Sleman in August to November 2005. Forty five numbers F4 lines crossing GM1xGH and 17 numbers F4 lines crossing GM3xGP Vere used. The selected seeds was planted in two blocks 'ltith Random Complitely Block Design (RCBD), each of experiment units consist of 10 plants. The length of fruits, diameter of fruist, weight of fruits, numbers of fruits in plant, and loculs of fruit were observed. Data Vere analysed to estimate variance, variance homogenity, genetic variability, heritability and cluster analysis. The results showed that genetics variability among f.amilies in F5 generation was greater than that 'ltithin families. The variance among families of F4 population was lower not significant than F5 population for numbers of fruits, length of fruits, diameter of fruits, and weight of fruits. In contrast, the numbers of locul of F41ines had variance of among families greater than that in F5 population. The heritability of numbers of locul was medium, whereas numbers of fruit, length of fruit, diameter of fruit, and weight of fruit was low. The F5lines selected VereA 184/4/11/1,A 184/4/11/2,A 67/8/1/1, B 78/1/9/1, and B 78/1/11/2.
