Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to determine pathogenicity of Edwardsiella tarda isolates from different regions based on lethal concentration 50% (LC-50). Lethal Concentration 50% test conducted to found out the concentration level of Edwardsiella tarda infection to infected fish. Isolates E. tarda were taken from Tilapia (Yogyakarta), catfish (Semarang and Jambi), tortoise imports (Brazil), goldfish (Pontianak). Lethal concentration (LC-50) tested in tilapia, catfish, pangasius, Celebes rainbow, and carp. Based on LC-50 showed that the highest pathogenicity of Edwardsiella tarda atypical isolates caused high level mortality in the infected fish and acute mortality. Viability data offish counted with Dragstedt-Behrens method was to identify LC-50. Lethal Concentration 50% value from 5 isolates of Edwardsiella tarda variated from 105till I08eelVmL. This result showed that isolates atypical of Edwardsiella tarda was the pathogenic bacteria to aquatic animal. Lethal Concentration 50% test showed that isolates from Pontianak was the highest pathogenic to carp which 1,8x 105 cell/mL until 6-7 days observation.
