violenceoccurredduring pregnancyand post-childbirth both in urban and rural areas. The percentage of violencetoward wife in the urban reached43.28 percent. while that in the rural was 42.8 percent. Local cultural values refelected in the concept of siri' or naeya and the practice of doi' balanca are portly responsiblefor the violence. In addition. religious doctrine has also significant contribution to trigger the husbandto wife violencein urban and rural areas. |
