Summary:ABSTRACT This article aims to explain the determinants of construction on noun phrases in French and Indonesian languages. The analysis used is a contrastive analysis. The analysis showed that French nouns have gender (masculine/feminine) and number (singular/plural). Gender and number in French has a rule of concordance that can affect the shape and meaning of the noun. In the Indonesian language. even though the noun has singular and plural gendre concept. the type and amount in the Indonesian language does not appear explicitly. This form is only marked with certain semantic characteristics that can indicate gender. the singular and plural forms. Keywords: determinants. gender. noun phrase. contrastive analysis
