description In the past one hundred years, human population has tripled, but water use for human purposes has increased sixfold. The water resources are available in limited, and the trend has continued to increase and there is a water crisis today. Ecosystems play important rules in sustainable water resources. This ecosystem are forest canopy in watersheds, rivers, wetlands, riparian vegetation, and they are function as the key ecosystems in hydrological cycle. Based on the hydrological routes, water are divided in two categories, green water and blue water. The sustainable of water resources depend the management planning of watershed in headwaters and large river in estuaries. The sustainable of water resources were determined by the health of watershed ecosystem. Thus, the management the management should be holistic from the headwaters in upstream to the estuary in down stream.
