Summary: | The effect of moisture content (MC) and aeration rate on composting of
tea waste was determined in this research. A self heating reactor (18 l) was used
in this experiment. Aeration rate were 0.5; 1.0 and 1.5 l/min.dm. The high moisture content (80%) shows the slower composting rate than the low moisture content (60%). The C/N ratio of the final compost of 80% and 60% are 17 and 15,
respectively. Degradation of compost with 60% MC is 20% higher than compost of 80% MC. At this range of aeration, moisture content has the most important factor to initiate the good composting process |
