description | The road routine maintenance equipments constitute agroup of equipment usually owned and used by Directorate of Bina Marga, Ministry of Public Work for road routine maintenance work. National road in South Sumatera that is spread in several location makes the equipment must be distributed depend on the type ofroad maintenance work. The equipment distribution policy which allow equipments used permanently in one work location for a certain period of time makes an insufficient equipment use compared to the number of work must be completed. Optimization and scheduling system is considered as an alternative of the current distribution pattern to solve the equipment shortage problem.The number of equipments should be used and work must be completed is the basis of the scheduling process. Equipment scheduling must ensure all equipment can be used in several locations within a time duration without any clashed between equipment’s schedule for finishing a work. Genetic algorithm uses genes and chromosome's representation to optimize equipment's scheduling in order to get the minimum mobilization costs for 46 equipments in 12 work locations. The result shows that motor grader and wheel loader are considered as two equipments with the highest mobilization frequency and require the most expensive mobilization cost. Based on overall cost evaluation, the application of the optimation allocation and scheduling system costs approximately Rp.1.089.510.600,- which isRp.236.725.000,- cheaper than the costs that previously incurred to meets the equipment needs. |
