Description
Summary:The current transformer, CT, is a type of instrument transformer that is used to convert the large electric current to smaller scale. The CT is widely used for measurement and protection. The main component of CT is an inductive coil. The performance of CT will be affected by the current flow or load connected. If the current flow is not in phase with the voltage, the power factor is not said to be equal to 1.0. The power factor can be lagging or leading and the absorbed dissipation is not constant. The research was conducted by changing the power factor of connected load to the CT. The results showed that the change in the power factor from 1.0 to 0.3 (lagging) resulted in a change of the current transformation ratio (k):8 to (k):7.5
