this is because the support of abundant natural resources both from the plantation
sector, agriculture, industry and mining sector. Investment into Kotabaru district
last few years are very encouraging. This also brings negative effects is by
decreasing the capacity of some main roads in the city Kotabaru. Traffic
congestion and air pollution occurs as a result of mobilization of the flow of goods
and people. Symptoms that occur are due to the use and provision of
transportation facilities are not on the path to a sustainable program. The WorId
Bank in 1996 introduced an approach to sustainable transport program with
transportation planning approach the future that focuses on the ability to preserve
the transportation services both economically, socially and environmentally.
This study aims to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats
related to the implementation of sustainable transport in the city Kotabaru and to
formulate appropriate strategies and reliable in the operation of sustainable
transport in the city Kotabaru. The method will be used in this research is
qualitative deskriktif with SWOT analysis identifies strategic factors of strengths,
weaknesses, opportunities and constraints or threats that are supported by the
litmus test methods to obtain the strategic issues in the implementation of
sustainable transport. Data used in the form of primary data and secondary data.
The primary data collected through interviews and questionnaires to respondents
in their capacity. For the secondary data obtained from relevant agencies and
reports relating to the conduct of transport studies. Based on data analysis of
internal and external factors will be obtained by weighting the score as a score of
priority interests internally and externally enabling the implementation of
sustainable transport. From the SWOT analysis matrix will be obtained strategic
issues that influence and then by using the litmus test will be obtained dominant
issues that are strategic.
To enhance and improve the quality of transportation service quality Kotabaru
town, its implementation should be based on the concept of sustainable transport
by taking into account economic, social and environmental. Thus, to carry out the
implementation of sustainable transport requires an adequate strategy and strong
commitment to support economic development while maintaining environmental
conditions |
