phenomena has become a serious threat to the country near coastline, because the
size of the impact that forces all countries to think how best to at least discourage
it, the various proposals and programs were try to develop to be applied in order
to achieve these objective, one of them is the concept of carbon trading through
REDD programs which in principle is to prevent the increase in carbon emissions
from deforestation and forest degradation. REDD concept is expected to inhibit
the effects of greenhouse gases in the earth.
Implementation of this research use exploratory description method that
combines qualitative method using in depth interview to assess the patterns and
determinants of the occurrence mechanism of carbon trading (REDDI) and using
quantitative methods through direct measurement, type, height and diameter of
trees and extent of their area, to be able to examine how to know the carbon stock
is owned by the overlapping area with concession area. Inhutani I Labanan Unit,
and how the process of determining zoning of high potential carbon stocks in both
areas. Measurement is done by using a simple calculation method Hairiah et al
1999.
