| description | The research aims to find out rooting strategy and extending the supporting base of Partai Keadilan Sejahtera (Prospereous Justice Party) in South Sumatera to encounter general election 2009. The problem raised is how does strategy of DPW Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, South Sumatera on rooting and extending the supporting base in general election 2009. The kind of research used is descriptive qualitative research. Data analysis unit in this research is DPW Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, South Sumatera. Data obtained through observation, interview and documentation. Data analyzed by inductively qualitative approach, an analysis based on data, fact and empirical information. The result shows; First, the rooting strategy implemented by DPW Partai Keadilan, South Sumatera with organizing all cadre activities or party working program to strengthen the support have been possessed by Partai Keadilan Sejahtera by applying cadres system and model, party working program through religious proselytizing activities, social program and cadres activities and legislative member on its community milieu and funding to rooting activities. Second, the strategy extends a supporting base from various community segments by means of maintain positioning PKS, determine the community target that will be a new supporting source. The support expansion was exerted by direct and guerrilla marketing like has been done in general election 2004. Based on certain logics, DPW Partai Keadilan Sejahtera, South Sumatera have more considered pragmatism aspect, extending network, utilization media, inclusive in community and more soft in religion, culture and ideology and personal veneration in community. Such inclusive attitude have implicated to majority cadres that left PKS since they appraised PKS did not consistent yet with the struggle of party religious proselytizing The conclusion, rooting initiative was carried out by performing all cadre activities or work program to strengthen the support that owned by PKS during the time. The supporting base expansion was taken by determining the community segment and target made as the supporting source for PKS, maintain the PKS positioning, doing direct and guerrilla marketing. The supporting base expansion was done as well by considering pragmatism aspect, network, culture, religion, personal veneration and media. The rooting and supporting base expansion have appeared a dilemma, both maintaining pattern to built the cadre or escalating the supporting base by loosening the tight pattern to built the cadre. This dilemma have reflected as well the shift of PK-Sejahtera from cadre party into catch all party. |
