Summary: | Background: In 2007 Oncology Ginecology Indonesia Society found that from all of ginecology cancer 32% are ovarian carcinoma. About 91% of ovarian carcinoma are of epithelial cell and most of them came on late stadium, stadium III – IV (75%). Apoptosis is a program of cell death, if unrepaired DNA not eliminate, than it will distrubing the cell growth. In this proses p53, a tumor supressor gene and bcl-2, an apoptosis gene involved. If there is unstable of these protein than apoptosis will occur and can cause an abnormal cell growth. Objective: to know the correlation between stadium of ovarian carcinoma Study design: Cross sectional method Material and method: This study was performed at oncology departement Sardjito Hospital,Yogyakarta. The subjects are 34 patients who diagnosed ovarian carcinoma and taking care in oncology departement Sradjito Hospital. P53,bcl-2 ekxpresion and apoptosis indeks are evaluate from the ovarian tissue. Result: From 34 patient we found that 2,9% are in first stadium and 41,2% are third stadium of ovarian carcinoma. Form the statistical analitics Pearson, we found that there is significant correlation between bcl-2 and ovarian carcinoma and apoptosis. Beside that correlation between p53 and ovarian carcinoma stadium and apoptosis also significant with p < 0,01 Conclusion: There is significant correlation between ovarian carcinoma stadium with p53 , bcl-2 expresion and apoptosis indeks.
