Summary: | This study aims to estimate the economic value of cultural heritage sites
in the Giri Sasana Menumbing of Bangka Island. As part of the history of
Indonesia's independence, and the object of tourist destinations in the Bangka, this
site has an interesting characteristic. Applying economic valuation Travel cost
method combined with Contigent Behavior Method to provide estimates of the
actual value of cultural heritage and in the foreseeable future if it is done the
environmental quality improvements on the site. By using the Poisson model, the
estimated demand function of cultural heritage can be found and used to explain
the relationship between frequency of visits and the number of variables that
affect the frequency of such visits travel costs, household income, age,
educational level, leisure and quality variables such as perception to
infrastructure, services and personal experience of cultural heritage site visitors
Giri Sasana Menumbing. It can be used to estimate the consumer surplus which is
the value of the economic benefits of cultural heritage sites Giri Sasana
Menumbing. The data used is data questionnaire with 100 people Sasana Giri
Menumbing site visitors between 18 to 22 October 2010.
The findings of this study is to estimate the economic value of Giri
Sasana Menumbing site per visitor for Rp2,382,311 and the total economic value
of heritage sites Giri Sasana Menumbing Rp32,713,894,437 with the highest
expected value if done improving environmental conditions is the scenario of
increasing services in Giri Sasana Menumbing amounting to Rp12,762,238 per
visitor and the total economic value of cultural sites of Rp175.251.048.951
Estimated value of benefits in studies using scenario suggested to the
visitor to gauge their willingness to change the condition of infrastructure,
services and improvement of personal experiences in cultural heritage is useful
for managers of cultural heritage Giri Sasana Menumbing for planning future
management of this site.
