| Summary: | This research is to observe and analyze characteristics of shaping factors
and the quality of road spatial enclosure. The definition of enclosure is not only a
spatial breaker but also a sense of placement or identity and benefit in viewing the
road spatial enclosure in order to facilitate in describing the characteristics of road
spatial corridor.
Location of the research is Seturan Raya street (UPN-Babarsari),
according to the Master Plan of Area Spatial Order (Rencana Tata Ruang
Wilayah�RTRW) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta on 2008, it is a part of
urban area in Yogyakarta and its function is classified as a collector road.
The research paradigm used in this case is the rationalistic qualitative,
emphasizes the understanding of the problems in the field under realistic
conditions. The analysis was performed with bridge of data street wall forming
elements and dimensions of road space (horizontally), which eventually form the
road cut (vertically) with a different scale. And then in combination with theory of
quality enclosure.
The result of this study indicate that there characteristics of Seturan street
space formed by the pattern : Building � Setback � Road � Setback � Building.
