| Summary: | Nature reserve is an area which has important role in wildlife reservation,
moreover it becomes the stakeholder of this life, preservation of flora and fauna
variety, and utilize the natural resources and its� ecosystem.
The purpose of this research is to review the change-over of the landform
and the scale of the used land, to review the kinds of environmental damage, and
to arrange the environment management strategy which is efficient to be apply in
Danau Dusun Besar Nature Reserve area. The method that is used in this research
is satellite imaging method (Aerial Photo Black and White, 2003 and Quickbird
Satellite Imagery, 2008). The descriptive-quantitative method is used in this
research to analyze the data.
The result of the research showed us that Danau Dusun Besar Nature
Reserve area has been covered by the enormous scale of environmental damage
as a result of the alteration function of the area, those are: deforestation, housing
expansion, Nakau-Air Sebakul ring-road project, and the changing of the land
function become a farm and a plantation area. In the last 5 years (2003 � 2008)
the field change-over are: housing expansion is increase up to 25.25 hectare
(4,38%), 2,7 hectare (0,47%) ricefield were gone, free area was decrease around
4,7 hectare (0,82%), and the embankment go up 9,29 hectare (1,61%). The impact
of field function change-over are forest degradation, environment provanation,
and the area quality reduction. The strategy of environmental management in
Danau Dusun Besar Nature Reserve area is socio-cultural based conservation
management that adjusted to the central government (BKSDA), Bengkulu city
government, and Lembak tribe people which function is to avoid the bump with
the local landform rule that belong to Lembaknese. Based on the field utilization
function guidance, it is necessary to review the Bengkulu�s city plan in order to
determine the area which is used as the conservation or protecting area, and
periodic counseling to the society which is aimed to increase society
understanding and awareness to keep the preservation of the Danau Dusun Besar
Nature Reserve area.
