| description | This research is aimed at identifying how the role of Sharia Supervision Board is
towards the financing channeled by Bank Syariah Mandiri, whether such channelled
financing has met the sharia principles as well as the laws and regulations, and whether
the role of Sharia Supervision Board has been optimum.
The research on the role of Sharia Supervision Board towards sharia -based
financing in Bank Syariah Mandiri belongs to juridical-empirical research, that is a
research utilizing primary data, directly obtained from society, and supported with
secondary data, comprising laws and regulations regarding sharia banking and Sharia
Supervision Board. The research sites were Payakumbuh Subbranch, Bukittinggi and
Headquarter of PT.Bank Syariah Mandiri. The collected data were analyzed qualitatively
to obta in problem description and presented descriptively, describing the reality related to
the function of Sharia Supervision Board in extending the financing in Payakumbuh
Subbranch of Bank Syariah Mandiri.
The research results indicate that (1) the role of Sharia Supervision Board towards
the financing channeled by Payakumbuh Subbranch of Bank Syariah Mandiri is still
limited to fulfill the requirements of Law because in practice it does not perform direct
supervision, but hand it over to Internal Audit Division |
