themselves. This illustrates that the survival of humans try to direct the 2012 film
audience on the other understanding of the meaning of apocalypse, especially when
looking at the discourse of apocalypse in the perspective of instrumental rationality,
but the discourse of apocalypse in the perspective of instrumental rationality that
brings power relations to change the position of religion and replace them with new
religions.
This study used the film medium as an object of research, namely the 2012
film. selection 2012 film is because this movie tells the story of doomsday events, but
there are core differences between apocalypse story with a doomsday religious
perspective in the story the movie 2012. This difference is interesting to study what it
intends related messages delivered by the 2012 film with a difference display and
how social structures, social relations and social institutions contribute to the
differences in the meaning of discourse to present quantity in the 2012 film. The
method used to reveal the hidden meaning in this 2012 film is a critical method
discourse analysis (CDA). Using this method can not be separated from a deeper
understanding of business in a discourse, not only text but also its context. Data
analysis will focus on texts and contexts that explain the power relations present in
the 2012 film so that the presence of different meanings between the discourse of
apocalypse from the perspective of religion with the apocalypse in the movie story of
2012 film. Besides, from this research will be seen how this 2012 film presents a new
social structure in the community.
The findings of the study are namely: first, the 2012 film directed doomsday
discourse to bear on human praxis, in the perspective of intrumental rationality
doomsday discourse is seen as an instrument that can be used to assure that the end
does not always mean destruction of the life of the world. Second, the discourse of
apocalypse in this 2012 film is also a lawsuit against the religious authorities by
performing objectification doomsday using technology power relations, and material
science. Third power relation is then put religion is no longer a venue to seek the truth
and life salvation media mankind. |
