The �Program Save Papua� at Kaimana has been implemented since 2008 until now, but still have not seen clear results for the community at Kaimana.
Objective: This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the �Program Save Papua� in Kaimana and examine the effectiveness of the program at Kaimana.
Methods: This study was a qualitative evaluation with descriptive method and case study design. Primary data was collected through in-depth interviews. The research subjects were: the manager of the program, the implementers, structural health department officials, policy makers and community leaders at Kaimana. The secondary data was obtained through review of documents.
Results: The study showed the existence of delays in disbursement of funds from the center, and its utilization was not maximized, so that the target achievement did not meet the specified indicators. There were limitations to the amount of effort and incompatibility level of education of the executors had resulted the skills and knowledge, of the task was still lacking. The Program Save Papua that also aimed to empower communities had not been fully executed.
Conclusion: The Program Save Papua in Kaimana will be more useful and more effective when fully accommodated by region, in terms of financing, utilization of health personnel and community empowerment according to local needs and capabilities. |
