Sammanfattning: | The era of information technology and communication, marked by the development of the Internet as a medium for strategic communication and effective in human daily life. The web 2.0 technologies has spawned social networking site Facebook. The presence of Facebook not just for making friends and exchanging information but began to be used to bridge the public relations with the government and between incumben and constituents in the democratic process, all over the world. Indonesia ranked as the second�s biggest Facebook users in the world and dominated by young voters. Political candidates need to consider in political campaigns online through the use of social networks adds up to votes, as well as with the government to build better relations with the society.
This study adopted the model of TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) to measure political participation of young voters as the user's social networking Facebook. Respondents totaled 151 people with age range 18-29 years. This study used path analysis to see the relationship between the factors.
The results of this study show that the use of social networking Facebook as a medium to increase the political participation of young voters has not been widely used by political candidates in Indonesia. The government also considered still rarely take advantage of social networking Facebook to build better relationships with the community. Therefore, it is time for the government and political candidates to maximize the use of social networking like Facebook, in order to establish better relations with the society and their constituents.
