description The flavonoid analytical method after using spectrophotometer against apigenin, quercetin, rutin and hesperidin flavonoids has been carried out. Method validation of Chang et al. (2002) gave good result of analytical parameters including λmax, operating time, limit of detection (LOD), linear range, standard curve, recovery, precision and limits of quantification (LOQ) while method Zou et al. (2004) is more applicable. Application of methods Chang et al. (2002) showed that the total flavonoid content of celery (Apium graviolens L.) is 1.130 + 0.018% (LOQ 0.001%) calculated as apigenin, the total flavonoid content of mulberry (Morus alba L.) is 0.883 + 0.034% (LOQ 0.019%) calculated as quercetin, the total flavonoid content of patikan kebo (Euphorbia hirta L.) is 1.187 + 0.062% (LOQ 0.039%), calculated as a rutin and the total flavonoid content of lemon peel (Citrus aurantifolia) is 3.216 + 0.084% (0.072% LOQ), calculated as hesperidin. Base on the result, the analytical method of Chang et al. (2002) could be used for flavonoid standardization in herbal medicine.
