Summary: | Internship is one of the prerequisites for someone to be appointed as a Notary.
The research objective about internship implementation for Notary candidate in
Yogyakarta was to know the internship implementation of all Notary candidates in
Yogyakarta, also to know the methods of teaching from the Notary to the Notary
candidates on the internship.
This research was done using a juridical empirical approach, which is using
legal norms describing the research and discussion method of the currently applicable
laws about internship for Notary candidate, and to assess its implementation by using
field assessment to gather the primary data.
The research result shows that until now, there is no internship curriculum for
Notary candidates. This causes the difference between one Notary and the other in
teaching Notary candidates on the internship. There are two models of internship
implementation in Yogyakarta, they are: First, Notary candidates are given the
freedom to read and learn the copies of deed from the Notary, after that, the deed
copy that have been read by the candidate is discussed by the Notary and the
candidate. Second, the Notary candidate in internship acts as the employee of the
Notary, the candidate can interact directly in deed-making process. Regarding the
difficulty of Notary works, the internship duration of 12 (twelve) months are
considered not enough. The lack of their awareness caused the candidates to go
through the 12 (twelve) months period of internship. The internship procedure that
was issued by INI, which states that every internship candidates must ask for the
recommendation from the INI Local Management, cannot be applied because
sometimes, the Notary declined the internship candidates because there already are
some internship participants. Thus causing the procedure to be reversed, first, the
internship candidates looks for the internship place, then ask for the recommendation
from the INI Local Management. There are some Notary that issues internship
certificate although the internship candidate rarely came to the Notary office to do
their internship.
