Summary: | This study is aimed to determine and analyze the variables level of comfort
of the Pedestrian along Malioboro and A. Yani Street . In addition, to assess
factors that influence the rate of Leisure Pedestrian streetscape setting that is onroad
along Malioboro street A. Yani around Malioboro, which is 1300 m. The
study site This area is a place for trade activity, housing, tourism / recreation,
shopping, and cultural conservation area.
Comfort level in the context of this research, Pedestrian Comfort factor in
terms of circulation factor, solar heat and micro temperature, state of the
pavement lane landscape form, beauty, safety or the safety and convenience in
terms of supporting facilities, to determine the level of pedestrian comfort Level
Analysis of pedestrians in this research use quantitative methods of analysis of the
physical setting streetscape associated with the ideal conditions on the basis of
existing theories, and qualitative methods through the analysis of verification
results based on the perceptions on contact pedestrian comfort level in the area
Malioboro to - A. Yani Street.
The results of the study is based on analysis parameters that pedestrians
on the physical setting and the perception of pedestrians , it can be concluded that
pedestrians are not comfortable in passing along Malioboro through A Yani
street The main factors cause the situations are : uncontrolled parking space on
the pedestrian path, and the presence of street vendor food and beverage in area
of pedestrian, beside the level density and high intensity of pedestrians are not
balance with the condition of space and existing pedestrian space proportion.
There are souvenir vendors are in pedestrian space and the placement as well as
the layout of the outlet of the vendors are not in the proportion of existing space.
The absence of signage in the form of directions as well as important information
useful for tourists who are in the region so that Malioboro is less informative as
a tourist area.
Road signs and road markings are damaged and lack of maintenance, some
can not be seen so they don�t provide optimal information for both motorists and
pedestrians in Malioboro area.
