Summary: | Central Market of Cianjur and Bojongmeron Indah Market are two centres
as the central economic activities for the people of Cianjur City. These two
markets will be relocated by the local government to a new location at the fringe
of city based on the feasibility study planned. This research explores
stakeholders perception, particularly buyers and sellers of these markets.
This research found that most of respondents disagree with the relocation
plan. This disagreement is caused by the perception difference between the
buyers and seller as marketplace user and the local government as decision
maker. Longer distance, longer time spent and bigger cost to the new location
push the disagreement to the new location of marketplace cause the minimum
respond of buyers to the new location. The long distance of new marketplace
location from the central of the city and society residence and its agglomeration
with other activities around such as leather factory and the final disposal area be
the bigger consideration for buyers and sellers disagreement. Buyers and sellers
with their convenience of the existing marketplaces state that the lack of public
transportation route cause the difficulties to reach the new location. It has
different perspective with the local government studies result state the new
location highly accessible for users because it locate on the southern ring road
and have a great areas to be developed in the future time. Theres a new
orientation of shopping activities location of the buyers just as location theories.
This new orientation of buyers movement potentially cause the failure of local
government plan to reach the city renewal by reducing the traffic jam in the
central of the city into a new traffic jam in the other side of the city.
This research recommends that the local government needs to make a
new design of formulation to optimize the development of the new marketplace
based on respondents perception. |
