Summary: | Constitutional debate is an important process that leads to how Japanese people
consider themselves, and they want to be seen by the world. With the weakening of the interest
in articulating the meaning into a different country with a unique constitution that called �pacifist
state� are committed to the resolution of conflict through means other than the use of force and
strive to create a new world order based on different values is a tangible evidence of the loss of
idealism.
This research aims to determine the factors sinking of the discourse of constitutional
1947 amendments to article 9, from the internal side of Japan, among others, the Japanese
community trauma of World War II, the threat from the left parties to boycott the trial amendment
to the constitution 1947, the emergence of peace movements by Japanese NGOs
and Japanese people want to be the status quo. Then from the external side of the cause of the
sinking of the discourse of constitutional 1947 amendments to article 9, among others, the U.S.
desire to extend military cooperation alliances, the emergence of ASEAN emotional and
emergence of enmity in East Asia.
