Summary: | Background: Poltekkes Kemenkes Pontianak as an educational
institution, is eager to improve the quality of education through technologybased
learning system. The e-learning platform have been developed and
implemented to support the educational process. This e-learning platform
has been designed as a supplementary while a conventional direct
teaching and learning are still the major activities. This study aimed to
evaluate the acceptance of the e-learning platform based on the users�
perception toward ease of use and usefulness.
Methods: This is an action research design. The subjects of the are the
managers, lecturers and students with the total number 113 persons. This
research was conducted at the Department of Dental Health Poltekkes
Kemenkes Pontianak. Data were collected through questionnaire,
observation and in-depth interviews.
Findings and Discussion: This study found that 60% of the users
(managers and lecturers) has not really understood and have no
experience about e-learning. Despite the fact that large number of users
have limited understanding and experience to technology-based learning
platform, most of them including students are agree that e-learning system
are ease to be used and have usefulness to improve the learning process.
More than 50% of the respondents answered Strongly Agree. This study
also identify that there is no special unit that maintain the e-learning
system.
Conclusion: It is concluded that majority of the users gave agree that elearning
platform at Poltekkes Kemenkes Pontianak are ease to be used
and useful to support the learning process. |
