Summary:Background: The influence of modern life and globalization in the life of teenagers causes the tendency for permissive attitude of teenagers towards free sex or premarital sex behavior. Religiosity is an important protective element that can control attitude and behavior of teenagers. Objective: To identify attitude of teenagers towards sexual behavior influenced by religious beliefs of teenagers. Methods: The study was observational that used cross sectional design and quantitative as well as qualitative approaches. Population of the study was teenagers of 15-24 years old, sample ware 128 respondents. Data analysis used Chi square and logistic regression at 95% confidence interval. Result: As much as 53.1% of teenagers had negative attitude towards sexual behavior. Degree of religiosity statistically and practically had significant association with attitude of teenagers towards sexual behavior with score of p=0.0001 and RP=2.08 (95%CI=1.40-3.08). The result of bivariate analysis showed there was significant association between variable of relationship with parents p=0.02 and RP=1.56 (95%CI=1.05- 2.29) and variable of influence of peers p=0.03 and RP=1.54 (95% CI=1.03-2.29) and attitude of teenagers towards sexual behavior. The result of logistic regression analysis showed degree of religiosity had the probability to predict positive attitude of teenagers towards sexual behavior as much as 14% after being controlled with variable of relationship with parents and variable of the influence of peers. Conclusion: Degree of religiosity had association with attitude of teenagers towards sexual behavior. Teenagers with higher degree of religiosity had more positive attitude towards sexual behavior.
