Summary: | The object of this research was West Papua Province with observation
period from 2005 to 2008. The main objective of this research was determining
the factors influencing the economical growth in West Papua Province.
Subsequently, this research aimed at identifying and analyzing the relationship
between economical growth and disparity among the districts in West Papua
Province using Theil Index, and identifying and analyzing the disparity of public
service and capital expenditures using Gini�s Coefficient. The ultimate objective
of this research was provide the evidence of Kuznets� U Reverse Hypothesis in
West Papua Province using square regression-analytic.
By using the regression method in panel data, which was the random
effect, the results obtained was that capital expenditure and total population
significantly affecting the economical growth in West Papua Province in analysis
period. Result of the analysis suggesting that the income disparity result in the
high disparity, while in the public service and capital expenditure result in the low
disparity, or we can say well distributed disparity. The analysis also provide the
evident that Kuznets� U-Reverse hypothesis confirmed in West Papua in the
observation period.
