| description | This research was intended to analyze effect of fiscal decentralization and
income per capita on public expenditure of provinces in Indonesia. It used
secondary data including natioal budget, local budget, regional gross domestic
product and population. Dependent variable in this research was public
expenditure in local budget (PUBLIC), while independent variable was fiscal
decentralization measured from ratio of local government to central government
expenditure (DEC) and control variable was income per capita (INCOME). Data
in this research included 99 observations taken from 33 provinces in 2006-2008
periods.
This research used panel data registration with OLS to get effect
coefficient estimation of each variable. After estimation technique selection, Fixed
Effect Model is the best regression technique to analyze relationship bettween
public expenditure and fiscal decentralization and income per capita. Empirical
result indicated that fiscal decentralization (DEC) positively related to local
government public expenditure but not significant. Meanwhile, income per capita
related positively and significantly to public expenditure of local government in
Indonesia. |
