Summary: | The research about standard contract implementation at regional public hospital
RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul according of Act No. 8/1999 on Consumer
Protection is an empirical research. This research is to get information about standard
contract implementation at RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul and also how is patient
protection in RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul of Act No. 8/1999 on Consumer
Protection.
This research is done at Bantul District in Yogyakarta city. The mechanism of
sampling is purposive sampling and using secondary data which is obtained from library
probing, through a documentary study and also supported by primary data and interviews.
Collected data are analized qualitatively and compiled in a descriptive report on research
result.
Based on the research result, standard contract implementation at RSUD
Panembahan Senopati Bantul is not running as optimal as expected and has not been able
to protect the patients�s right as a consumers of health sercives. It is happened because
many patient think their position was so week and the hospital has a strong position.
Patient does not allow to negotiation, i.e. take it or leave it. Patient is given a contract by
the hospital, and patient is in no position to renegotiate the standard terms of the contract,
they are generally understood before the contract is signed. Standard form contracts are
signed at a point because of they are in pressures to get medical treatment. The customer
protection implementation in RSUD Panembahan Senopati Bantul are right to comfort
and safety, right to get medical treatment as a contract, right to get information with
honest and clearly about the treatment that will be taken, also right to get protection from
false and misleading claim.
