Summary: | PDAM Kupang Regency has experienced losses in recent years. This is
due the current distribution system can not meet customer needs and highly
operational and maintenance costs. Meanwhile, on the one hand, there are two
potential water resource as alternative raw water resource of PDAM Kupang
regency, i.e., Tilong Reservoir and Baumata Springs. Therefore, it required a
utilization review on its technical and economic side of both potential sources of
water.
A review was conducted by comparing the existing and the planning
condition. The existing conditions and new network planning modeling was
analyzed by Waternet Software version 2.1, of total water demand is based
estimated population in 2025 with a target service level of 50%. The economic
feasibility Analysis of the new network was based on BCR value (bennefit cost
ratio) by bennefit components were selling water to the new network and losses of
existing condition, while the cost components were initial construction and
operating costs and maintenance of new network.
Modeling results indicate that alternative networks capable of distributing
water to customers without rotation. Economically, new network planning is
eligible to be built of design life over than 11 years. Assuming banking interest
rate of 15%, new network planning gives BCR 1.1 on 11th year.
