Summary: | The adsorption properties of ions imprinted Cu and Cr of amino-silica
hybrid (HAS) adsorbents used 3-aminopropyltrimethoxysilane (APTMS) with
tetraethylorthosilicate (TEOS) as main precursor via sol gel process and grafting
on silica surface have been studied. Characterizations of ionic imprinted material
were done by identification of functional group and analysis of the silica surface
(specific surface area). The studied adsorption properties of ionic imprinted HAS
adsorbent involved determination of the optimum condition of adsorption,
adsorption capacity and adsorption energy and also character of multimetals
adsorption for each adsorbent that were compared with non-imprinted silica gel
(SGNI).
Synthesis of ionic imprinted HAS was done with the sol gel precursor
TEOS through a simultaneous process and grafting on silica surface with silica gel
as precursor through a reflux process, each with the adsorbed metal targeted i.e.
Cu(II) and Cr(III).
Results showed that the optimum condition of adsorption of Cu(II) and
Cr(III) in each adsorbent occurred at pH 4.5 and 5.5, respectively. The largest
adsorption capacity of Cu(II) with the amount of 41.42 mg/g was achieved by
i-Cu sol gel while the largest adsorption capacity of Cr(III) with the amount of
49.76 mg/g was achieved by i-Cr grafting. The selectivity-test data of multimetals
adsorption showed that the selectivity of HAS imprinted ionic was higher than
SGNI and the relative adsorption selectivity of HAS imprinted grafting was
higher than HAS imprinted sol gel. |
