infection, hernia and dehiscence, cosmetic aspects, and wound healing. Midline
incision (linea mediana) makes exposure of the abdomen is excellent so that
operations can performed more quickly, while a transverse incision (pfannenstiel)
is gaining popularity with the occurrence of infection, hernia and less wound
dehiscence because this technique follow Langer�s Lines resulting in reduced
traction at the skin edges and making better wound closure and approximation.
Objective: To determine condition on the third day of wound healing post
gynecological surgery with pfannenstiel and midline incision technique.
Design: This study used Prospective Cohort design, there are two groups, linea
mediana (midline) incision as the control group and pfannenstiel incision as
treatment group.
Methods: Subjects were all patients who underwent gynecological surgery in
Sardjito Hospital and several affiliated hospitals that have been determined and
has fulfilled the inclusion criteria.
Results: A total of 60 people underwent this research. Baseline characteristics of
patients who underwent this research is similar. Based on chi-square analysis
showed no significant difference between pfannenstiel and midline incision on the
third day condition of wound healing (p = 0.21). The risk of oozing wound on the
third day 2,5 times in linea mediana compare to pfannenstiel incision (CI: 0,525 �
11,894).
Conclusion: Statistically there is no significant difference effect of pfannenstiel
and midline incision on the third day of wound healing. |
