On this research, the writer is going to see the effect from the environmental
changes towards logisitcs industry especially in FIN Logistics Medan also provides a
strategy to be able to compete well in this era.
In order to recognize the logistics� industry growth the writer uses the external
analysis of law and politics, economics, social cultural, technology and demographic
and five forces analysis as well. While for the company�s environmental analysis the
writer uses value chain analysis. Afterwards SWOT is used to acquire the most
suitable strategy to be able to face the changes in business� environment.
The writer could conclude that there are still opportunities in logistics
business. However, the problems are the bad condition of this country�s infrastructure
and on the top of that there are no such regulations for logistics industry in the future.
From the analysis we can conclude that the most suitable strategy for FIN
Logistics Medan is the best-cost provider. It is a combination between differentiations
strategy with cost leadership one. It is aimed to give total satisfaction to the customer
while maintining high quality product with low cost productivity.
