| description | Cocoa downstream agroindustries (off farm) in Indonesia up till now is still
underdeveloped if compared on farm sector. In Poso district has been built a cocoa
processing unit of industries-scale household on cooperation between local government of
Poso District with B2P TTG-LIPI. This industry processes fermented dry cocoa bean into
milk chocolate, dark chocolate and chocolate spread. This study aims to determine the
company�s performance based on achievement of performance and gain a strategic
position and alternative development strategies, so that later can be obtained the
appropriate program policy development in the cocoa processing industry units Poso
district. This study begins with a performance measurement to determine the performance
of the company so that it can be determined follow�up plan for its development strategy.
Performance analysis carried out by Balanced Scorecard approach and assisted by
Objective Matrix (OMAX) in quantify their benchmark. The next step is to determine the
position and strategy of development. Analysis of development strategy based on Balanced
Scorecard used analysis method of SWOT.
The result of study showed that company performance based on performance
analysis consecutive: perspective of financial performance is the best with perspective
index value of 7.13. Perspective of performance customer is good with perspective index
value of 6.52. Perspective of growth and learning performance is bad with perspective
index value of 2.94.Perspective of performance internal business process is the worst with
perspective index value of 0.93. Analysis of SWOT showed a position of strategic
development of cocoa processing industries unit of Poso district stand on I quadrant of X
axis 0.0564 and Y 0.0807, appropriate development strategy is Strength-Opportunity
strategy (SO Strategy). Alternative of development strategy performed that is (1) improving
capacity and continuation production, (2) improving product quality with keep using local
raw materials and supplement materials from s District, (3) Improving knowledge of good
and solid business management system, (4) expanding network distribution and marketing,
either for the final or side product (5) using banking service for business development
independently and continuously. The follow up plan for development program is focused on
internal business process perspective because performance of this perspective is the worst
between four perspective other. |
