Summary: | Forest is an ecosystem that its management should be based on the
ecosystem management principles. Meanwhile, natural forest land characteristics
are very rich so that the forest management needs to fit the characteristics that
possessed by the natural forest. In fact, forest management today is still far away
from the principle or the silvi-culture rules system which should be employed. This
research aims to find out the structure, potency, and the natural forest stand
composition, to find out yield regulation of wood by utilizing etat equitation
methods of yield regulation which fit condition of the local forest.
This research is done in a natural forest product. The potential appraisal is
done by forest inventorying activity by sampling to 24 ha area with line length is 12
km to pile level stand and tree. To measure the stand mass is by utilizing formula:

x t x f to the sample tree. The stand composition point can be seen
from the Index NilaiPenting (Essential Value Index). The measurement increment
is Mean Annual Increment (MAI). The etat estimation is based on wide, on Von
Mantel volume, on Meyer Amortization increment growth, Austrian, Hanzlik. The
election of the product systematization is done by comparing stand increment and
result of etat calculation and adjust to the characteristic of the local forest there.
In the areal of natural forest Product Som-Sokbor, Xebangfai District,
Khammuan Province, Lao PDR. A horizontal structure form the inversion of
J curve, the vertical structure in stratum B and C, with the stand potency for tree
class (class with diameter over 20 cm) is 111,67 tree/ha with volume 107,53 m3/ha.
This areal is dominated by commerce varieties meranti, and rimbacampuran.
Mean annual diameter increment is 1,02 cm, the mean annual volume incriment is
8,04 m3/ha with total of the stand increment is 9.871,5m3/th. Etat which based on
wide is 1.512,36 m3/thn, which based on Von Mantel volume is 8.791,05 m3/th,
which based on the growth of Meyer Amortization increment is 16.010,51 m3/th,
Austrian 2.455,60 m3/th, which based on Hanzlik is 11.381m3/th. The result of the
etat and increment measurements is on the standing trees that it needs to be revised
by pacification factor and exploitation factor. The result of etat measurement which
is based on the amount of the trees, the based on Von Mantel volume and the
increment growth Austrian method can be utilized as the systematization method
because it doesn�t reach over the total stand increment. In its application, the
ecosystem principles and local nature forest is still has to be given the attention.
