Summary:This thesis has been written based on study and research on flywheel energy storage. In the research, three flywheels with the same mass of 10 kg and radius of 10 cm, 14 cm, and 18 cm were joined to induction motor-generator individually and the energy obtained were 12.3 kJ, 24.1 kJ, 39.9 kJ consecutively. The flywheel will be functioned as an energy storage device while the induction generator is a mean to convert mechanical to electrical energy and vice versa. This converted energy is expected to be stored or to be distributed based upon the work of kinetic energy from flywheel installed to that machine. The use of flywheel to electrical energy storing and distributing can also be used to overcome dip-voltage. Based on experiments using a 18 cm flywheel in paralel with capacitors it was clear that the highest instantaneous discharging voltage released 235V (neutral phase) which is greater than line voltage (220V).
