description | PT K33 Distribusi is one of the consumer goods distribution centers in
Surakarta. They distribute products from principal to retailer including of
hypermart, supermart, minimart, markets, and stores. Stock outs which are
frequently happened in the controling of product inventory can cause lost sale and
profit reduction of PT K33 Distribusi. These losses occured due to PT K33 has no
safety stock policy.
In order to solve stock out issue, a Decision Support System (DSS) is
designed to be able to propose an order quantity and order time. The method used
to design the database is the entity relationship diagram. This research is using the
mathematic model base called the reorder point system. This system is using
demand data generated by random number suits with the distribution pattern. The
purpose of this DSS is to search the best combination of order quantity (Q) and
reorder point (ROP) which are able to minimize stock out and reduce the
inventory cost. The user interface is designed using programming language of
Borland Delphi 7 and MySQL.
Simulation runs result show that the DSS can provide an optimum
suggestion of order quantity and order time. The DSS can also reduce the stock
out and inventory cost up to 26.5 % and 45%, respectively. By using cross
validation with the level of significance of 95 %, it is concluded that for 120
products, the comparison of DSS output with actual demand results in sum square
error of 472.23±1788. Meanwhile the output of moving average method
compared with actual demand, results in sum square error of 560.24±2081. |
