| description | The Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk Group was formed by Australian
Indonesia Partnership (AIP) at 2006 which be composed of women batik workers
in Giriloyo Imogiri Bantul. This group change the women role that originally an
home batik worker becomes women batik workers in group and able to contribute
60% of family income. This condition distinguish the women members of Written
Batik Sungging Tumpuk Group with Javanese women in general. Javanese
women generally experience a domestivication role and experience a stereotype
included in the communication behaviour. The women members of Written Batik
Sungging Tumpuk Group is different from Javanese women in general.
Researcher want to know how the communication behaviour of Javanese womens
member of Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk Group.
Researcher will use communication ethnographic method to find out how
the communication behaviour of Javanese women members of Written Batik
Sungging Tumpuk Group. Researcher will collect data by conducting
participatory observation and in-depth interview of informant with snow ball
technique. This method is expected to be able to provide data as naturally as
possible so that researcher can provide a real picture of the behaviour-related
communication member of Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk.
The women members of Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk is always
communicating to fulfill their need. Communication is done among members
(internal relation) and external relation such as the other group members, guests,
public society, and owner of batik enterprise. In communication, women members
of Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk uses verbal and non-verbal language. The
verbal language indicate existence of language level used specially in accordance
with values and norms of Java cultural. The non-verbal language used include
kinesik, paralinguistic, touch communication and proksemik. The most influential
of Hofstede variable in determining communication behaviour is power distance.
Difference of economic status become the most influence on the behaviour of
external relation. While on the internal relation, difference of bureaucratic
structure determines the pattern of communication. Communication behaviour are
a reflecting of values, norms and individual knowledge system. The behaviour has
a meaning appropriate to context of values on the cultural which are believed.
Different behaviour than general thing considered dangerous. The women
members of Written Batik Sungging Tumpuk is classified vocal, masculinityfeminicy
do not distinguish in communicating. |
