description | This study aims to analysis factors that influence the probability of working and
analyzing the returns to education workers in Indonesia based on panel data IFLS
2000 and 2007. The approach used in the analysis of the probability of working is
the Linear Probability model using OLS. The techniques used in the estimation of
returns to education are the OLS, and Fixed Effects Heckit. The study found that
the probability of labor force working in Indonesia are significantly influenced by
variables of education, experience and assets. Labor men have a greater
probability of working women. Workforce is married and has a smaller
probability than the labor force have not / did not marry. Workforce in the city
have to work a smaller probability than workers who lived in the village. The
results of the estimated returns to education by the method of OLS is larger than
the results obtained by the method Heckit and Fixed Effects. The amount of rate
of returns to education by the method of OLS (9.5%) while the method Heckit
(6.6%) and Fixed Effects (5.5%). Workforce in the city have greater returns to
education from the village. Labor force working in the public have greater returns
to education than working alone. Workforce in the industrial sector have returns to
education are greater than the agricultural sector. Labor force working in services
have returns to education are greater than the agricultural sector. |
