| description | The study of the analysis of impact of Farmer Empowerment through Agricultural Technology and Information (FEATI) on increasing the farmers welfare (Case Study: FMA Mangunsari Village Kec. Windusari Kab. Magelang) is done with a common objective to analyze the impact of the implementation of FEATI in the Village Mangunsari, Windusari Sub District of Magelang District towards improving the farmers welfare participating in learning. Particular purpose is to analyze whether FEATI can increase farmers' income through learning about technology and information, analyze whether FEATI can improve participation in planning extension activities and community activities in general, and analyze whether FMA can improve knowledge, attitudes and skills of farmers in business . The study was conducted by collecting primary data from 60 respondents consisting of 30 respondents participant learning and 30 respondents control (non-participant learning). The data was collected by interview questionnaire as well as depth interviews with key informants. Using analysis of paired mean difference test, against net income before and after learning the respondent participants, obtained that FEATI through FMA learning show significant results towards increased net revenue / benefit of farmers, with a value of -4,763 (α=5 percent). Using the method of Difference-in-Differences, also obtained results that FEATI net impact is 106,6 percent (equivalent to Rp8.517.790,73) on increase farmers' net income. Farmers empowerment through technology and information is a whole process of extension system that can not be separated, but a synergistic relationship between research institutions, extension implementing agencies, farmers institutions and farmer themselves. Technology more rapidly adopted by farmers is a locally-based technology, while learning from farmer to farmer and in accordance with the needs of farmers is more effective in changing knowledge, attitudes and skills of farmers in farming, which will further enhance the farmers welfare. |
