Summary: | The use of steel is currently very rapid, generally used in the field of
materials engineering and machining tools. Low carbon steel has a weakness
against corrosion, wear and hardness. This drawback can be overcome by
providing a layer on the surface with hard chrome electroplating method. This
study aims to determine the influence of electroplating time by hard chrome on
low carbon steel to the physical and mechanical properties. Want to know the
characteristics of the layer is a thick layer, hardness, corrosion rate and wear
surfaces. Low carbon steel used has a chemical composition (wt%): 0.034 C, 0.02
